The purpose of the Data & Analytics Program is to serve as a catalyst for advancing industry capability through:
Program Support
Support other IWN working groups regarding data governance and management and providing resources and expertise to analyse and visualise data. We do this by setting formal and informal challenges (hackathons) to leverage the talent pool in the water industry.
The Digital Metering stream focuses on researching and implementing uses-cases to create value from digital metering data.
Promote Data Literacy
Promote the importance and power of data, emphasising good data governance and analysis practices, and enhancing data literacy across the industry. We do this by developing educational content with industry-specific caste studies and real-life examples.
Value Creation
Driving initiatives to assist water utilities with creating value from data and leveraging emerging digital technologies. We do this by initiating information sessions and trials about new technologies.
Through these efforts, the Data & Analytics Program aims to empower members, drive innovation, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the water industry.
