Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration Program
ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
IWN exists to help solve the Victorian water industry’s shared challenges through collaboration and leadership. Much of our work is based on technology trials, but it’s also important to have a program dedicated to sharing lessons learnt, new knowledge and emerging opportunities.
That’s what this program is all about. It fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst Victorian and Tasmanian water authority professionals. It supports all our other programs by sharing knowledge and bringing people together from across our industry to work together for shared outcomes. It also helps water authority professionals build networks within the industry, creating connections that support personal career development and strengthen our sector.
Our industry can gain so much by working together, and we’re committed to helping make that happen. Find out how below.

Current projects
Webinar Series
One of this program’s main projects is our popular monthly webinar series, focusing on emerging subjects of interest for the industry within our 10 program areas. Recent topics have included hydrogen, digital twins and AI water quality monitoring.
Our webinars are open to our member organisations - make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter for details. Staff at our member organisations can also watch webinars on our Knowledge Hub.
Aquifer
Aquifer is a cloud based web platform that allows water corporations to access and share information about innovation trials.
It was developed by Melbourne Water and Greater Western Water to share tech trial information between the two organisations. IWN is making it available to all our members to improve visibility of tech trials and share information about them.
Knowledge Sharing Conference
As part of our commitment to facilitating knowledge sharing and foster collaboration in the Victorian water industry, we hold an annual conference for exactly that.
The conference is a chance for us to update members about our projects and plans, hear about our members’ challenges and opportunities and to come together to work on solutions.
