WHAT ARE YOU STUDYING AT MONASH?

I’m in the Monash College Professional Pathways program. It’s all about developing workplace readiness in graduates.

WHAT MADE YOU PUT UP YOUR HAND FOR A WORK PLACEMENT WITH IWN?

I felt that the work IWN conducts is in line with the path I hope my career can follow, and it was a great opportunity to get a first real look into the industry.

WHAT WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR TIME WITH US?

  • Attending the AWA VIC/IWN conference and getting to network with other young water professionals

  • Being engaged with some high value work in the biosolids department

  • Morning catchups with the team, which were open welcoming discussions

  • Interacting with people from a wide range of professional backgrounds and gaining insight into different aspects of the water industry

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN THE WATER SECTOR?

Yes, I am attracted most by the prospect of working within the hydraulic engineering sector; spillways, dams and reservoirs but I would also be interested in work related to water treatment facilities and the supply of fresh water.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?

I would just like to show my appreciation to everyone who guided me through the past 12 weeks and wish them all the best. I have really enjoyed this experience and can’t wait to take all the knowledge I’ve gained with me to my next role.
