Energy and Carbon Co-Lead announcement

The Intelligent Water Networks (IWN) have announced Rod Curtis will be joining the organisation as Energy and Carbon Co-Lead.

Rod will be joining Program Manager Steve Reddington, who previously lead the Energy and Carbon program jointly with Ben Spedding.

Steve said he was pleased to have the extra help with the program, which has seen successes such as the Zero Emissions Water PPA and wastewater treatment plant energy efficiency benchmarking.

“I really appreciate Rod coming on-board as Co-Lead,” said Steve. “This isn’t just about sharing the load; it’s also about drawing on our different perspectives to help shape the Energy and Carbon Program and the many new projects we have coming up.”

Rod added that already had some knowledge of IWN through his role at Western Water, and couldn’t wait to started.

He said: “I have a great passion for innovation, thinking outside the square and a background in the electrical industry so I am naturally drawn to IWN Energy and Carbon program.

“I look forward to working with Steve and sharing the load. Western Water has had some great exposure to IWN projects and this has generated great passion in our staff and resulted in adopting business improvements. As Co-leader I’m looking to work with other Water Corps and see similar success.”

Meanwhile, Intelligent Water Networks Program Director Dean Barnett commented that this is an exciting appointment for the organisation.

“I am pleased to welcome Rod Curtis as our new Co-Lead for our Energy and Carbon Program,” said Dean.

“This is a great opportunity to work closely with Steve Reddington who is our IWN Program Manager, Energy and Carbon. Rod joins the team with extensive water industry experience, a passion for this topic and will compliment the energy, enthusiasm and outcomes that Steve and this program are focused on.

“I’m really looking forward to what the program delivers over the next 12 months.”
