Brett Millington departs his role as IWN Program Director

Intelligent Water Networks Program Director Brett Millington has departed his role as of Friday 11th October. Brett ran the organisation for 18 months and his fingerprints are all over a number of IWN’s biggest successes. After 20 years in the Victorian water industry, he will be returning to his roots in order to take up the CEO role with Mildura Regional Development, an organisation who will certainly benefit from his involvement. We wish him well in his latest adventure!

Brett will be replaced by Energy and Carbon Co-Program Lead Ben Spedding in the interim period while the search for a full time replacement is undertaken. Ben is currently the Energy and Resource Recovery Manager at South East Water and has worked in the industry for 16 years.

IWN executive group chair Paul O'Donohue commented: “Ben’s most recent role as Energy and Resource Recovery Manager enables him to develop energy and resource recovery plans to allow South East Water to implement their emissions reduction strategy to be net zero by 2030."

“Ben has been an active participant of IWN for several years including project managing the technical stream of the IWN Large-scale Renewables project, now known as ZEW and is the Co-Program Lead of the Energy and Carbon stream. Ben’s leadership was recognised by being the recipient of the 2018 VicWater Emerging Leader Award.”
